The opening ceremony was held at 7 pm on the first day (May 4, 2018) of the Great Works in the main hall of Cheonseong Wanglim Palace. Family Federation Headquarters for a Heavenly Korea and Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center President, Rev. Gi-seong Lee read True Parents words as follows:

“When we march forward in unison as one, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. There is only victory! This is what I say to you. I bless you with a wish that you may start this new year with a resolution, in which we should absolutely make Heavenly Parent’s dream come true together with True Mother, the universal Mother.” (True Parents’ address at the True Parents’ Birthday and the 5th Anniversary of Foundation Day Victory Celebration)

And President Gi-seong Lee conveyed a message titled “When we are united into one, only victory will happen.”
 
“Now that True Father went to the spirit world, and he is working to break down all of the religious blockages to establish a unified world, we can have this great multicultural festival on earth, just as it is in heaven. This is why we will be holding this incredible festival tomorrow centering on True Parents, where all races get along with each other in harmony, attending one Father and Mother. Do you believe? Please bring your guests to this wonderful festival and let them know the glad tidings of such amazing events. It is good news for this world, if they can come and see how great our culture is, how people from all around the world, all races can become one in front of True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind and bow and attend them, and therefore establish this culture of true happiness. This is the teachings of what we should let the world know about.”
